Emma Rush (guitar) and Sara Traficante (flute)

Enchanting flute and guitar! The Azuline Duo brings together Emma Rush (guitar) and Sara Traficante (flute) in a new ensemble that is gaining recognition for striking repertoire and a lively stage presence. Emma Rush, one of Canada's foremost classical guitarists, has toured widely in North and South America, Europe and Asia. Her most recent CD release is Canadiana, a disc devoted to Canadian works for guitar that includes the premiere of a piece by William Beauvais, as well as music by Joni Mitchell, Gordon Lightfoot and Stan Rogers. Sara Traficante has performed throughout Canada and internationally as an orchestral and a chamber musician. She is a member of the genre-bending trio Vox Metropolis, and has collaborated on projects that range from classical ensemble work to film scores to indie rock. Emma and Sara have performed at such international events as the Sauble Beach Guitar Festival (Ontario), the Buffalo Women of the Guitar Festival (New York) and the Lonestar Guitar Festival (Texas). Their CD premiere, entitled Romanza, was released in 2016 and provides a fresh look at the music of Spain and Latin America. "Fantastic performances, great repertoire..." thisisclassicalguitar.com
